Totally transformed through a design by the architect Luca Caprioli, the private home, located in the EUR Torrino area of Rome, is comfortable and welcoming, thanks to the skilful union of pre-existing spaces that has allowed it to maintain functionality and privacy. The demolition of the partitions, which made the environment dark and cavernous, allowed natural light to illuminate the living room, creating shadows and shades. The open space is ideally divided into functional areas, emphasised by the presence of light-coloured furnishings that characterise the living area illuminated by the daylight of the large window, overlooking a large furnished terrace. The soft colours have been studied as well as the choice of materials made with care.
The Lithos collection in 14 mm thick porcelain stoneware by Cotto d’Este in the 90x90 cm size and Moon variant was used for the kitchen floor, almost to delimit the area. The collection is the result of the in-depth study of the most precious natural stones present in nature and the ability of Cotto d’Este to interpret the most striking effects in products of extraordinary refinement. The result is a completely new aesthetic, capable of combining the beauty of limestone with sophisticated and subtle inlaid marble streaks. In addition, Lithos is part of the PROTECT® line for which ceramic surfaces have a real antibacterial shield with silver ions incorporated in the tiles, which eliminates up to 99.9% of bacteria from the surface, making it protected, 24 hours a day, day and night, more hygienic and easier to clean, safe throughout the house.
