KERLITE: Ultra-Thin Laminated Porcelain Stoneware Slabs
KERLITE is an ultra-thin laminated porcelain stoneware slab whose exclusive fibreglass reinforcement guarantees five times greater resistance than non-composite, unreinforced tiles, in thicknesses starting from 3.5 mm and formats reaching up to 100x300 cm and 120x278 cm. The slab is lightweight, flat, flexible and can be cut, drilled or installed even on curved surfaces.
The applications for KERLITE slabs range from traditional floors and wall coverings to contexts where weight is a genuine design constraint: furnishings, furniture, ventilated facades, worktops. Thanks to the patented KERLITE Easy system, KERLITE 5plus and 6plus slabs can be dry-laid directly over an existing floor, with no demolition required.
Furthermore, the KERLITE production process uses fewer raw materials and less energy than traditional porcelain stoneware. The large slab dimensions allow more square metres to be transported per load. For projects requiring verified environmental documentation, KERLITE slabs are accompanied by a certified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), based on a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
