The Dark Side of interior

Captivating and Visually High Impact Environments

Goth, with its dark colour palette and occult flavour, is without a doubt one of the trends that’s catching on in various cultural environments, from fashion to design to, obviously, TV, where Tim Burton’s iconic Wednesday has become a true “Hit-Girl”. In the world of interior design, environments with a spectral appeal and chic punk style are clearing the way thanks to the elegance and high scenic impact of certain pieces of furniture and finishes, including floors and cladding, which are capable of establishing a strong and unique atmosphere within a space.

Cotto d’Este offers some of the most hardcore goth collections out there, dedicated to those for whom black (and its various nuances) is a happy colour.

DOMESTIC THEATRICALIT

Advantage Skin from Cotto d’Este presents itself as a balanced combination of details borrowed from different kinds of natural stones. Among these is the slate look, characterised by subtle and well-distributed veining, delicate nuances, and changes in colour, as well as typical marble striations, in this case more pronounced and ramified. The end result is a perfect blend of natural details that combines the appeal of slate with the elegance of marble veining.

Four nuances exist: Chalk, Greige, Silver, and Graphite, the darkest colour in the collection, perfect for both interiors and exteriors, with a natural finish, opaque highlights, and a soft texture. A contemporary collection with a touch of chic punk style, thanks to a uniform colour that’s enhanced by a design made of various mineral elements.

TIMELESS CHARM

TIMELESS CHARM

On the other hand, Allure is a collection that intensely expresses the characteristics of marble, a natural material with an eternal appeal: uncontaminated and intense, absolute and lustrous. For this product, Cotto d’Este was inspired by the most intense colours extracted from the Bergamasque Alps, and borrows from distant countries like Brazil, whose marbles stand out for their dynamic tones and irregular vitality. The nuances of marbles from vastly different areas of the world are projected onto large, ultra-thin Kerlite slabs, which allow the veining to flow uninterrupted, with textures that are both deep and superficial, for walls and for floors.

More specifically, the collection is subdivided into two kinds of looks, among which we find Scénique, made up of products that vigorously define the character and personality of the space in which they’re inserted. Of these, Orobica stands out, embodying Cotto d’Este’s harmonious interpretation of a multitude of tones – from yellow to red and from dove grey to beige – on a black background: an intense journey through well-defined arabesques and a black that’s “warmed” by the iridescent tones of this rich texture.

Creating environments with a dark allure, without forgoing elegance and harmony, and which reflect the personality of those who live in them, is easy with the high-quality surfaces from Cotto d’Este, capable of intercepting the latest trends in architecture and design through a continuous process of study and research.
