Claudio Angelucci Architetto and Edgardo Toso srl wanted to move away from the current rather bland look of coastal buildings and avoid a vernacular architectural style. They did this by designing a building with a strong personality, the Residence Lido Riccio in Ortona, a seaside resort near Chieti in the Italian Abruzzo region. The project was awarded an Honourable Mention in the Residential category in the La Ceramica and Progetto event in July 2018.

We used Cotto d’Este tiles to clad the external walls of the façade, some interiors and part of the paving at the back of the building.
We used several different slab sizes for the façade, including 50x100 cm and 5x100 cm to mention just two. We chose tiles of light colours, the Ultrawhite from the BLACK-WHITE range, a super thin ceramic orcelain that suits perfectly contemporary living styles. Snow, is a snow-white colour enriched with the addition of zirconium giving it a unique chromatic effect. Cendre by Kerlite BUXY, the ideal solution for the most refined and exclusive rooms combines the lightness and exquisite beauty of the tile with the technical excellence of Kerlite.
