In the heart of Paarl, a city located in one of the most captivating areas of the Western Cape, House Nel offers a contemporary interpretation of the dialogue between architecture and landscape. Designed by Louis Phillips Architects with interiors by Salome Interiors, the residence stands out for its perfect balance of refined materials, natural light, and timelessly elegant volumes, creating welcoming and sophisticated spaces.

A project that celebrates nature as an integral part of the architecture, and material as the connecting thread between indoors and outdoors, forming a fluid continuum of stylistic and chromatic coherence, where each environment harmoniously interacts with the next.

PRODUCT USED

For House Nel, materiality is the guiding thread that unites interiors and exteriors in a coherent and luminous narrative. The Cluny collection by Cotto d’Este covers the indoor and outdoor floors of the residence, from the bathroom to the patio, from the veranda to the paths leading to the pool.

The deep materiality of the surfaces, inspired by Burgundy stones, evokes an authentic and natural elegance, enhanced by a palette of soft, luminous tones that interact with the South African landscape light. Cluny tells a story of beauty that stands the test of time: durable, versatile, and perfectly in tune with the home’s aesthetic, it conveys a sense of balance and tactile comfort.

A project that interprets Cotto d’Este’s philosophy in a contemporary key: transforming ceramics into living architectural matter, capable of blending technology and emotion, beauty and function.
