It is situated in the Languedoc-Roussillon region in France and surrounded by lush vegetation, the new project by interior designer Rossend Cortés which consists of a newly built house imagined as a contemporary version of a country barn, which pays homage to the concept of a country retreat.
The 190 sq m apartment is organized around a large central volume, which, in a diaphanous space, contains the living area consisting of a kitchen area, dining room and living room. A space characterised by high and sloping ceilings and accentuated by three trusses with exposed wooden beams painted white. The floor selected in neutral tones highlights the walls, in a bold amaranth and wood colour, producing a very balanced final result.
The kitchen, which features a central island and a contemporary and minimalist style, is the standout room in this large and bright space in which light penetrates through sizeable windows, creating an extraordinarily enveloping effect. An interplay of different textures and striking contrasts reinforce the house’s youthful and timeless character.
Large sliding glass doors open onto a big terrace with concrete walls and floating floors, which also features a “bocce” court.
