A commercial space that seeks to open itself up to the city, becoming a sort of interior town square that seamlessly extends the urban environment. This is the concept behind Boutique Branà 1915 in Altamura, designed by Pierluigi Percoco, architect and co-founder of B + P architetti.

Inspired by Giorgio De Chirico’s “Italian Piazzas”, with their repeated archways defining and enclosing a space, the boutique is dominated by the colour white, serving as a blank canvas on which to dramatically showcase the store’s clothing. Every piece of décor is designed to evoke a metaphysical space, with the cube and sphere positioned in the centre of the store embodying this concept perfectly.

PRODUCT USED

For this project, the architectural firm selected an exceptional product by Cotto d’Este. Specifically, the Cement Project collection, in its Color-20Cem version, was used for the store’s window displays. The versatile collection of ultra-thin, 5.5 mm thick, Kerlite slabs is inherently sustainable with 100% of its CO2 emissions offset. It is also part of the PROTECT® line of high-performance antibacterial flooring and cladding products, for healthy, safe, and protected environments. The cube at the centre of the store, echoing De Chirico’s piazza imagery, is clad in elegant, custom-made Calacatta marble-look stoneware.
