Pura by Cotto d’Este, one of the latest collections from Panariagroup’s premium brand, has been included in the “Residential Design” category of the 2023 ADI Design Index. Each year this index selects the best products and services from the various sectors of the Italian design industry for the Compasso d’Oro, the most prestigious national award in the field of technological and industrial design, which will take place in 2024. Thanks to this important recognition, Pura is officially among the candidates for the 28th edition of the Compasso d’Oro.
The collection stands out for its unprecedented tactile sensations, textured and mineral surfaces, warm colours, and extraordinary technical performance. Inspired by limestone, a calcareous stone, this Cotto d’Este product celebrates nature, quality, and balance, with an elegant and delicately expressive result. The background texture features a grainy structure typical of limestone and a design which creates a sense of movement through subtle shading and variations in tone. This unique series combines sophisticated aesthetics, remarkable texture, and enormous design potential in options that include 14 mm stoneware, 20 mm outdoor stoneware, and ultra-thin, over-sized Kerlite 6plus (6.5 mm), the flagship product of Cotto d’Este’s catalogue. Furthermore, thanks to the THINk ZERO project, Pura’s ultra-thin, over-sized slabs are carbon neutral. Panariagroup has, in fact, worked to minimize CO2 emissions generated during the production process and offset the remaining emissions for the entire product lifecycle, creating CO2-neutral ultra-thin slabs.
“We are so proud that one of our collections, a symbol of elegant aesthetics and advanced technology, has been chosen for the 2023 ADI Design Index. This selection on the part of the Permanent Design Observatory comes in the very year that Cotto d’Este is celebrating its 30th anniversary: 30 years of innovation, creative research, and a love for beauty that has led the brand to create unique collections, known for their outstanding technical performance and unparalleled allure. Pura perfectly embodies these characteristics, with aesthetics that promote a sense of balance and well-being and with technical features that ensure longevity and safety,” declares Bruno Buratti, Brand Manager for Cotto d’Este.
Each year ADI (Association for Industrial Design) selects a roster of products that stand out for their originality, innovation, production processes, materials, and overall design synthesis. To be featured in this prestigious collection of top designs means having presented a distinctive collection, the result of the constant research and development that Cotto d’Este has been dedicated to for the past 30 years.
