At Cersaie 2026, Cotto d'Este turned material into a story of art, craftsmanship and design culture, welcoming numerous visitors on an immersive journey that culminated in the world premiere of Shade.
With Materia Prima – The Culture of Matter, Cotto d'Este brought to Cersaie 2026 a journey dedicated to material and the culture required to transform it, engaging designers, professionals and visitors who explored the space over the five days of the event.
Light & Essence, Memory & Detail, Balance & Vision: three acts that took shape through Cotto d'Este surfaces and a sequence of mini-sets inspired by the arts, craftsmanship and know-how. Gestures, tools and visual cues evoked different worlds, united by precision, attention to detail and the ability to transform material through knowledge.
SHADE. The rigour of cement, the elegance of restraint
The star of the journey, Shade was unveiled in a world premiere at Cersaie 2026. A new interpretation of cement, essential and sophisticated, in which tone-on-tone cloud effects and mineral micro-grains build a deep material with a surprisingly soft touch.
Its seven shades make up a calibrated, contemporary palette, spanning luminous, neutral and more intense nuances, and expanding the collection's compositional possibilities and its dialogue with architecture.
Rigour, balance and material sensitivity come together in a surface designed for architecture without compromise, an expression of Cotto d'Este's aesthetic research and know-how.
LEGEND and SOLARIS. Memory and light
Alongside the new Shade, Legend gave shape to Memory & Detail, bringing the strength and geological memory of Pierre Bleue into the space. Fossil traces, stratifications and mineral details become an intense, deep material, reinterpreted with the precision and refinement typical of Cotto d'Este.
Solaris, on the other hand, interpreted Light & Essence, evoking the brightness and character of Mediterranean stone. Textural, luminous surfaces build a natural dialogue with light, giving spaces an essential, timeless elegance.
Three collections and three different expressions of material accompanied visitors through an experience that made Cotto d'Este's design culture tangible, blending research, aesthetic sensitivity and craftsmanship.
Material, gesture, memory, vision. At Cersaie, Cotto d'Este's culture took shape and won over the public.
